FAQ

Will there be medals at this race?

A unique Coffin Finisher's Medal  has been created for the 5km and 10km races, plus this year Spooky Mile participants will receive also receive this.   ITS THE SAME MEDAL FOR EACH RACE, FYI.  Its sic btw (coffins), the third year with a different character

Is there Packet Pick Up on race day?

Yes!  As with all Good Times Running Events, Packet Pick Up will be available day of the event. PLan to arrive early as this event has grown and over 1500 people will be on site, expect an hour ahead to be safe, nothing worse than rushing around before a run!

Where is Packet Pick Up?

Packet Pick Up is on both Friday and Saturday, October 25th-26th and will be from 4-8 pm Friday and  11 am-6pm at Go Auto Don Mills (888 Don Mills Rd, North York, ON M3C 1V6).  LATE registrations are also here if we are not sold out.

Will there be a time limit to finish the 5K or 10K?

At 7:30pm which is an hour for the 5k, and and hour and half for the 10k course support will be finished.  Don't dilly dally at the candy stations!

Is there parking?

There are plenty of FREE parking spaces at the Ontario Science Centre, while supplies last, approx the first 100 cars in the South Parking Lot and just $5 if you miss these, but free if you arrive after 4pm Sunday.

What if it rains?

Monster Dash will take place rain or shine, hot or cold. Please dress appropriately for the run.  Only severe weather like lightening or thunderbolts, high winds, maybe a horde of locusts swamps the area, or of course the Zombie Invasion we hope for each year.  THE RUN MUST GO ON but if we cancel the outdoor activities due to these and other acts of unnatural causes we'll still have an indoor costume party, dance a thon, more pumpkin carving contests and of course the Monster Maze will keep you occupied.  Bring a second costume to change into if you don't win our contest on the first try!

Will there be a bag check on site?

Not to worry, there will be a bag check area and its free.

Will I get attacked by Zombies or other scary characters?

This run does not have the near-dead chasing you, touching anyone or splattering blood over your awesome costume.....we have had ghoulish characters support the event and help to add flavour and scary vibes but you will not be scared out of your pants here unless you are a real sissy.  What is that behind the trees or lurking in the bushes....go find out if you dare!

What if I register and then get injured or can't attend, are there refunds?

Like most events of this nature refunds are not allowed, since equipment, supplies and all the other items we order are placed sometimes months in advance.  BUT Good Times Running will allow the following, at no charge.  Sell, trade or exchange your bib with someone else, just make sure we are made aware of the changes so we can correct the results accordingly.

Many social media platforms are excellent for this (Running Room in Toronto, MyNextRace.com, Road Race Results.com) including our own pages (Monster Dash, Good Times Running, Toronto Corporate Run and Midnite Run New Year's Eve) are places to post your message.  Lots of cheap runners wait till race week looking for bargains.....(:

    Questions?

Ask Miles!
Can I bring my baby stroller and or pet?

Yes, since this is also a fun run in addition to being chip timed for all those competitive runners,  we will allow runners / walkers with strollers to start at the back. If your pet is well trained they will be allowed to run starting from the back of the runners. No pets inside the Science Centre but lots of grass outside nearby (its a park)

Will there be a Costume contest?

Of course! It's Halloween!    Feel free to dress in your wildest and creative costumes. The Monster Dash  team will be taking notes throughout the evening & winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony.

Will there be food?

We will be providing food and drink at our post race party. Food vendors are still being finalized!   There are no formal seating areas.....we're in a HUGE indoor space now BUT there are some chairs to use, the floors are clean here, they're looked after by scientists after all!

All participants in the Spooky Mile, 5k and 10k get fed as part of your registrations and parents, spectators, hangers-on can buy a Meal Plan for $15 to join the fun since dinner is sitting at home getting cold.

How Do I Register?
